Minister of fisheries aquatic and ocean resources Hon. Ramalingum Chandrasekar has requested from the government to raise job opportunities for Sri Lankan fisherman in the Korean job market with the objectives of raising employment opportunities for the Sri Lankan fisherman, increasing training opportunities and upgrading their livelihood.
A crucial stakeholder meeting convened on January 19, 2025, at the Ministry of Fisheries to formalize and revitalize Sri Lanka's shrimp industry. Chaired by Deputy Minister Rathna Gamage, the meeting brought together key players, including NAQDA, NARA, industry associations, and provincial representatives.
Qi Zhenhong, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Sri Lanka, held a productive meeting with Ramalingum Chandrasekar, Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic, and Ocean Resources, on 09th Thursday at the Ministry headquarters.
