The relocation of the existing small boat dock in the area is being successfully carried out under the program to promote the Arugam Bay Tourist Zone in the Ampara District.

Strengthening Sri Lanka's national initiative to digitalize its fisheries sector and enhance maritime safety, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), supported by Australia, has donated 50 tabs to the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources.
With the aim of providing immediate solutions to the problems faced by the fishing community, a special discussion was held today (02nd July) at the Ministry auditorium under the patronage of the Deputy Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources, Mr. Rathna Gamage.
