The government is currently taking steps to increase domestic production as a solution to the country's dollar crisis.

Ceremonial opening of the newly constructed Research and Training Center Building of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jaffna, Kilinochchi was held on 25.01.2021 with the assistance of the Government of Japan.
