“We received the people’s mandate because we pursued a form of politics that is for the people, without privileges and luxuries. Accordingly, we are working at present. We have not obtained any privileges in a manner that wastes public funds,” said Minister of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources Ramalingam Chandrasekar.

He made these remarks while participating in a ceremony held to award appointment letters. The Minister further stated:

“None of those receiving appointments today contacted us to make requests. Recruitment is also not carried out based on political recommendations. All appointments have been made by systematically following the established recruitment procedures. No party differences have been considered here; appointments have been given to those who are qualified.

Those receiving appointments today will not remain in this position forever. In the future, you will be entitled to promotions and salary increments.

You have experience in the digital field and technical knowledge. We will provide you with the facilities you require. Using these facilities, you must take forward programmes to provide our fishermen with knowledge of digital and modern technology as well.

We hope to provide all fisheries officers with electric motorcycles before the end of this year. Our Ministry Secretary has made considerable efforts towards this.

Therefore, you must provide your service to the people with dedication.

Likewise, we did not enter politics for privileges or luxuries. That is the politics of our group. This is why the people supported the National People’s Power and gave us the mandate to govern.
