National Apprenticeship and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA) and the Ministry of Fisheries held a discussion today at the Ministry of Fisheries under the patronage of Hon.State minister Kanchana Wijesekera (26.01.2021) on the program that provide vocational training, technical training and professional certification to stakeholders in the fisheries, ornamental fisheries and freshwater fisheries industries.
It has been decided that the training would be provided free of charge by NAITA for 3000 persons for the year 2021 and the selection of professionals would be done by the Department of Fisheries, Aquaculture Development Authority and NARA. Rs. 375 laks by NAITA will be allocated for this program.
The meeting was attended by NAITA Chairman Nalin Tharanga Gamlath, Director, Assistant Director and Secretary to the State Ministry of Fisheries Jayantha Chandrasoma.
