Ceremonial opening of the newly constructed Research and Training Center Building of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jaffna, Kilinochchi was held on 25.01.2021 with the assistance of the Government of Japan.
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Jaffna Sri Sathguna Raja said that a faculty for the University of Jaffna was established in Arivial Nagar, Kilinochchi due to the continuous steps taken by Minister Douglas Devananda. The Vice Chancellor said that the request was made by Fisheries Minister Douglas Devananda at the inauguration of the Kokavil Communication Tower when Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa was President.
Minister of Education GL Peiris and Fisheries Minister Douglas Devananda were also present and had the opportunity to sing the National Anthem in Tamil.
