After nearly a decade, long-pending vacancies for Assistant Directors in the Fisheries Department have been filled, with Ramalingam Chandrasekhar formally handing over appointment letters to 10 newly recruited officers.<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\"\"\/\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n

The appointment ceremony for these officers, recruited to the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, was held yesterday (24) morning under the patronage of Minister Chandrasekhar.<\/p>\n\n

A total of two officers were appointed under the open stream, while eight were selected under the limited stream. The candidates were chosen through a competitive examination conducted by the Department of Examinations, following special approval granted by the Recruitment Approval Committee established under the Prime Minister’s Office after the current government assumed office.<\/p>\n\n

Issuing a special statement, Minister Chandrasekhar said:
\u201cYou are assuming duties today with full legal authority, overcoming administrative barriers that have persisted for nearly ten years. As a government, we expect public officials to implement policies with maximum efficiency. Therefore, we look forward to your fullest support in achieving national policy objectives.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

The Minister also underscored the importance of integrity in public service:
\u201cFraud and corruption are a cancer that destroys a nation. The present government is setting an example by rejecting excessive privileges and salaries. It is now your responsibility to help establish that clean political culture within state administration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

He further stressed the duty of safeguarding the fishing community, which has been affected by natural disasters such as \u201cDitwa\u201d and other global challenges, adding that the Ministry remains committed to delivering a transparent and corruption-free public service.<\/p>\n\n

Director General of the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, Mr. Susantha Kahawatte, along with several senior ministry officials, were also present at the event.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
