A tourist boat service in Beruwala fishery harbour
 
 
Constructions of the building associated with a tourist boat service was initiated in Beruwla fishery harbour with a view to expanding employment opportunities in economic development and enhancing tourist attraction towards Sri Lanka. A cost of Rs. 140 million was borne in this regard and the Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development, Hon. Mahinda Amaraweera and the Belgium Counselor Hon. Pierre Pringiers were presented to the occasion.

This boat service is planned for both local and foreign tourists who visit Beruwala and it is being functioned by Solar Impulse (Pvt) Ltd and BAFF (Building a Future foundation). 

A number of direct and indirect employment opportunities emerge within the area of Beruwala with the initiation of this tourist boat service. Persons engaged in service supply, repairing and maintenance, vessel manufacturing and tourism in coastal areas will be highly benefitted by this programme.
